Volunteers have always been an invaluable part of the work of Crowley's Ridge Academy.  In fact, it would be difficult to come on campus at any time in the past and not see at least one parent or grandparent volunteering their time and energy to help with the day to day activities on campus.

This year will undoubtedly be no exception.  However, we are going to try to make improvements in the area of communication with our volunteers.  In order to accomplish this, we are going to create several different groups which will be intended to help us enrich our school on several levels. 

All of these groups will be a part of a larger new group known as Christian Parents In Action (CPIA).  

Here is a list of the groups that will begin or continue this fall:

Parents Prayer Group - This group of parents and grandparents will meet periodically in order to simply pray for our students, faculty, staff, administration, families, and others in need.

Teachers' Appreciation Group - This group, which has been in existence for a number of years, will continue to focus on honoring the employees of the Academy.  The people involved in this group will periodically express appreciation to the CRA employee family through small tokens of appreciation.

Student Focus Group - This group will focus on providing nice surprises for our students from time to time.  These surprises will be intended to boost student morale and school spirit so that we can make the school day a little more fun.

Teachers' Assistant Group - This group will be begun to help teachers where they wish to receive it.  Initially, we will try to assign a parent to each teacher who wishes to be involved.  Then, the parent, as they are made aware of their teacher's classroom needs, will communicate those needs to other parents so that the necessary assistance can be given.

Fund Raiser Group - While we have had a less formal collection of parents involved in the fund raising activities at the Academy, this group will focus its energies predominantly on the Magazine Sales, the Valentine's Auction, and the Jog-a-thon.  These people might be able to help in the prize selections for each event, as well as helping get the projects completed by helping count and/or collect the necessary items.

Alumni Involvement Group - This group will consist of parents and grandparents who are alumni of the Academy.  These people will serve as a "conduit", of sorts, between the school and other less active alumni so that they can find out some of the great day to day events that are occurring at the Academy.

Decorations, Landscaping, and Grounds Committee - This group will focus its energies on decorating for the various special events that we have at the Academy.  These events will include such days as Grandparents Day, Homecoming, Kindergarten Day, graduations, and other special occasions.  The group will also have the opportunity to help with the upkeep of our campus property outside of the building.
