The 2008 Magazine Sale kicked off on August 29. We had our first turn-in day on September 3. Unfortunately, the first day did not bring about as many sales as had been hoped. We are currently at about $4,000 in the sale, which is about $2,000 less than the total after the first turn in day last year. The next turn-in day is set for next Tuesday, September 9. For every five orders turned in between Thursday morning and Tuesday afternoon, students will receive a spin from the Wheel of Fortune, where they can win up to $20 or even a chance to gain more through the money machine.
The goal for this year's sale is $45,000. If we raise this amount, it will mean an $18,000 profit for the Academy (we receive 40% of the proceeds of what we sell). This money will be applied toward the purchase of new computers for the computer lab.
So, if you would like to purchase a magazine, please get with one of our students over the next couple of weeks. If you are one of our parents, please encourage your child to sell all the magazines they can. As usual, we have great incentives to motivate them.
