The 2008 Senior High Lady Falcons had a fantastic season.  After winning the 3A Northeast District title, they marched with confidence into the state tournament.  In the first round, they defeated the squad from Conway Christian.  However, in the second round, they bowed out to the eventual state champions rom Lavaca.  It has truly been a great season, though.  We appreciate the girls for their dedication to the sport, to each other, to our school, and to our God.  They are to be commended on all levels.  Thanks also to the coaches - Coach Freer, Coach Austin, and Coach Elms.  We appreciate their hard work and dedication very much as well!

At the conclusion of the season, four Lady Falcons were named to the all-conference team.  They are Aubrey Cupp, Rachel Jetton, Gretchen Jetton, and Jordan Pillow.  The same four students also received the honor of being chosen as all-state selections.  We also had two nominees for the  all-star all-star game.  These are Gretchen and Aubrey.  The Falcons who were placed on the All-State Tournament team included Gretchen, while Treka Freer and Rachel received honorable mention.

As for the Jr. High Lady Falcons team, they also had an incredible run in 2008.  After finishing second in the 3A Northeast conference, the Falcons entered the conference tournament with a lot of confidence, but they knew they needed to play well in order to pull out the tournament crown.  In the first round, they played a tough squad from Ridgefield Christian, but prevailed.  In the second round, they defeated the Brookland Lady Bearcats, a team that was also very tough to defeat.  In the finals, they faced off against the top-seeded Piggott Lady Mohawks.  In three tough games, the Lady Falcons prevailed, and the celebration began.  Lindsey Killough , Ashlyn Abbott, Deidra Pillow, and Maddie Taylor were selected as all-conference performers.  We really appreciate this team as well, not only for their great play on the court, but also for their great attitude away from the court.

It has truly been a season to remember.  Congratulations to both Lady Falcons' teams!  Your accomplishments this year were incredible!
